ARthropoda
Arthropods are organisms that come from the phylum of Arthropoda. The term Arthropoda come from Greek which means "jointed legs." Arthropods mainly consist of Crustaceans, Insects, and Arachnids (ex. spiders, butterflies, crabs, and scorpions). The organisms in this phylum have jointed appendages, an exoskeleton, and a segmented body.
Digestive patterns of Arthropods
Arthropods are known for their different ways of consuming foods. Arthropods can be omnivores, herbivores, omnivores, saprophytes, and omnivores. Because there are so many ways of eating in this phylum, there are also different digestive systems depending on the different feeding modes like with butterflies and scorpions.

Digestive System of a butterfly
Butterflies are animals that consume nectar, liquefied dung, water, and many other fluid type foods. The reason why butterflies eat liquefied is because it has to go through the proboscis. When the butterfly wants to eat, it stretches out the proboscis which is basically like a straw for the butterfly. When it does not want to ear, it rolls up into its form it was in before it ate the food. After it goes through the proboscis, the butterfly digests the food and takes away the vitamins and proteins which are good for the butterfly. The excess becomes the feces and is expelled from the abdomen.
Digestive system of a scorpion
Scorpions (obviously) have a similar digestive system of a butterfly. Unlike butterflies who eat nectar, body fluids from decomposing animals, and other things; Scorpions eat mice, insects, and small lizards. Unlike butterfly digestion, scorpion digestion begins outside the mouth. Their food begins getting digested by juices
which come from the gut. The food the scorpion digests goes from the
mouth to the esophagus, then to the anus where it is expelled from the body. The Pharynx takes the proteins and uses them for the body. For the non digestible food like the animal's exoskeleton, the setae, which is inside of the scorpions body, is expelled from the body all together
